Dear EWS Families,
Community Trees
Erin Woods School has been accepted as a recipient of the City of Calgary Community Trees: School Planning Program. This is a yearlong collaborative, curriculum-based program that culminates with the planting of a small urban forest at Erin Woods School. Our grade 5 and 6 students will be participating in an in-class presentation led by the City of Calgary Parks Program Ambassador, a guided nature/tree walk as well as interactive activities. In the spring, they will be working with the City of Calgary and the EWS team to plant trees in our NEW Urban Forest.
Terry Fox Run
The students at Erin Woods School will be participating in the Terry Fox run on September 18th. Please see the Messenger that was sent earlier this week, or the event on our calendar for more information.
Meet the Teacher Night
Please join us for Meet the Teacher Night on September 24th from 4:00 – 6:00. We are looking forward to hosting families as you join us in getting to know your child’s classroom teacher. We will have computers set up in the library where you can get help with your MyCBE Accounts and meet Ms. Jensen, who is our literacy teacher, this year. There will be light snacks available, courtesy of our School Council. See you on the 24th!
The Seasons are Changing
With the weather changing, please ensure that your child is coming to school with appropriate clothing for the weather. We will stay inside if it is below –20 with wind chill, when there is lightning or during episodes of poor air quality.

My CBE Account | Create and/or Update
Stay informed for the 2026 -27 school year! We would like to ask that at least one parent / legal guardian for each student create a MyCBE account or add newly registered children to existing MyCBE accounts prior to the beginning of the upcoming school year.
Already have an account with no updates? Then there is no further action required.
- For parents without a MyCBE account, to create one: MyCBE - Creating an Account
- For parents with an existing MyCBE account, to add a student see: MyCBE - Adding Additional Students
Note | Need to check if you have an existing MyCBE account?
A MyCBE account allows parents / legal guardians to:
- View your child’s report card
- Access your child’s program information (e.g., course assessment, daily attendance record)
- Book School Conferences
- Submit school forms (e.g., Demographic Verification, Annual Authorization, Citizenship Information Update, and/or Volunteer Registration)
- Pay Fees, apply for waivers or register for transportation
