Registration at Calgary Board of Education (CBE) schools is not determined on a first come, first served basis. Registration and admission to schools in CBE is governed by the Education Act and Administrative Regulation 6090 | Child and Student Registration and Admission.
Kindergarten at the CBE | Come Learn with Us!
Our Kindergarten AM & PM classes come together on Friday mornings; there in no school for all students on Friday afternoons.

We are so excited to officially begin the 2026–27 school year with you and your child! The first day of Kindergarten is Monday, August 31st.
To help ensure a smooth and confident start for all students, Kindergarten will begin with a staggered entry schedule from Monday, August 31st to Wednesday, September 2nd.
📌 Please note information regarding what class your child will be in will be emailed to you by the end of June. This email will explain your child’s staggered entry schedule and when they will attend.
- On Monday, August 31st, each child will come for one hour only.
- On either Tuesday, September 1st OR Wednesday, September 2nd, your child will attend the full three-hour class in a smaller group setting.
*This gradual start helps your child build comfort and confidence before beginning full class days.
Here are a few important details about the first week of school:
- Beginning Tuesday, September 3rd, all Kindergarten students will attend regular hours:
- AM Class: 8:00am – 11:00am
- PM Class: 11:30am – 2:30pm
- Friday, September 4th is our first alternating Friday. The AM Kindergarten class will attend from 8:00 – 12:00pm. The PM Kindergarten class does NOT have school.
