Dear EWS Families,

Welcome back! We’re excited to begin the 2026–2027 school year. Our staff has been busy preparing, and we look forward to seeing students on Monday, August 31st. You will be receiving an email from your child’s classroom teacher tomorrow afternoon welcoming your child to their classroom.  In the meantime, please see the information below as you prepare for next week!

Bell Schedule

Grades 1–6

  • Morning Bell: 7:55 am
  • Lunch Bell: 12:00 pm
  • Dismissal: 2:30 pm

Kindergarten

  • AM: 7:55 am – 11:00 am
  • PM: 11:30 am – 2:30 pm

First Day of School Information

Our students will meet their teachers in the WEST field.  Teachers will be lined up from the North side beginning with kindergarten and the farthest being our grade 5/6 teachers. 

Each teacher will have a pylon with a sign attached indicating their last name so you will be able to find them. 

We will have extra staff around wearing supervision vests so you can ask for support/help when looking for a teacher.

Students in our Specialized Setting and Complex Needs classrooms will be greeted at the front door or on their designated bus.

What to Bring

All learning supplies are provided by the school. Students only need to bring:

  • Clean indoor running shoes
  • Backpack
  • Snack
  • Lunch

Volunteers

Students at EWS often have field trips throughout the school year.  Police checks are required and can take up to 1-2 months to process.  Once approved they are good for 5 years.  If you think you might volunteer at some point, please sign into your MyCBE account and click on "online forms" to fill out the "Annual Volunteer Registration form" to get started.  The earlier this is completed the better, to ensure you are able to attend a field trip when they come up.

Reminders

  • Please leave toys and personal items at home.
  • We will continue with our “Away for the Day” cell phone policy. Phones are not permitted for use during the school day. If you need to reach your child, please contact the front office.
