Dear EWS Families,
Erin Woods is fortunate to have many Filipino-Canadian families within our school community. We want to share our heartfelt thoughts and support with all our Filipino-Canadian families after the tragic events at the Lapu-Lapu Day celebration on April 26.
May is Asian Heritage Month, which is a time to celebrate and deepen our understanding of the rich cultures and histories of Asian communities in Canada. It also offers an opportunity to recognize the remarkable achievements and contributions of Canadians of Asian descent, whose efforts have helped shape the Canada we know and cherish. The theme for Asian Heritage Month 2025 is "Unity in Diversity: The Impact of Asian Communities in Shaping Canadian Identity."
This upcoming week is Canadian Mental Health Week. Wednesday, May 7 is "Hat's On for Mental Health". We encourage all EWS students to wear their favourite hat to raise awareness for mental health. Students will be engaging in lessons throughout the week to support mental health literacy and wellness.
